Jeremy Allen White

Jeremy Allen White is an American actor best known for his roles as Lip Gallagher on Shameless and Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto on The Bear. Born in Brooklyn, New York, White was raised by parents who were both actors. He trained in ballet, jazz and tap before switching to acting in high school. He graduated from the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan.

White made his film debut in Beautiful Ohio (2006) and appeared in a number of independent films before landing the role of Phillip “Lip” Gallagher on Showtime’s Shameless in 2011. He starred on the series for all 11 seasons through 2021. In 2022, he was cast as Carmy on The Bear, a role that brought him widespread acclaim. He has won a number of awards for his performance on the show, including a Golden Globe, Emmy Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and Critics’ Choice Award.

Outside of television, White has appeared in films including Fingernails (2023), The Iron Claw (2023) and Fremont (2023). In 2025, he starred in the biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere.

White married actress Addison Timlin in 2019. The couple share two daughters: Ezer (born in 2018) and Dolores (born in 2020). They filed for divorce in 2023. White was later linked to singer Rosalía, but the pair split in 2024. He moved on with The Bear costar Molly Gordon later that year.
