About

Brooklyn-born Emmy-winning comedian Jerry Seinfeld began his comedy career at an open mic night right after graduating from Queens College in New York, which doubled as an audition for 1976’s Catch a Rising Star.

After his open mic appearance, Seinfeld landed a spot in a Rodney Dangerfield HBO TV special performing stand-up. After a 1981 appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Seinfeld began to gain national popularity, prompting him to team up with writer Larry David to create the TV series Seinfeld. Four seasons later, it became the most popular sitcom in America, and in 1993, it was awarded the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Following the show’s end in 1998, the Emmy winner went on to appear on shows such as Curb Your Enthusiasm and in films such as Unfrosted (2024). He has also lent his voice to films such as The Bee Movie (2007) and to shows such as Dilbert.

The comedian dated college student Shoshanna Lonstein for several years until they broke things off in 1997. He later moved on with public relations executive Jessica Sklar, and the two wed in 1999. The pair share children Sascha (born in 2000), Julian (born in 2003) and Shepherd (born in 2005).
