Katey Sagal

Katey Sagal is a Golden Globe-winning actress. Sagal spent her childhood in Los Angeles and attended the California Institute of the Arts after graduating high school. She later entered the entertainment world by pursuing music before pivoting to acting.

Sagal’s introduction to Hollywood was as a backup singer for artists such as Tanya Tucker and Bob Dylan. She also contributed to a number of albums as a songwriter and earned credits on a handful of film soundtracks, including Silent Rage (1982). She went on to release her first solo album in 1994 titled Well… and her second album Room in 2004.

The singer’s first major on screen role was on the sitcom Mary from 1985 to 1986. The following year, she signed on to the cast of Married… With Children as Peggy Bundy. The role earned her mainstream success, and she remained with the show until its end in 1997.

In 1998, Sagal joined the cast of the animated comedy Futurama, lending her voice to the character Leela. The show was canceled after four seasons, but she reprised her role after its return in 2007. Some of the actress’ notable later appearances include Smart House (1999), Tucker and Glee. She has also played recurring roles on shows such as Superior Donuts and The Connors.

In 2011, the actress was awarded a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series for her role on Sons of Anarchy.

From 1978 to 1981, Sagal was wed to Freddie Beckmeier. Following their split, she tied the knot with Jack White in 1993. The pair separated in 2000. She later married writer Kurt Sutter, and the couple welcomed daughter Esmé Louise in 2007.
