About

Kid Cudi (born Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi) is a Grammy-winning rapper, singer, songwriter and actor. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was raised by his mother after his father passed away when he was 11. He studied film at the University of Toledo but dropped out after a year to pursue a music career in New York City.

Cudi gained attention in 2007 with the release of his song “Day ‘n’ Nite,” which caught the attention of Kanye West. He signed with West’s GOOD Music label and released his debut mixtape A Kid Named Cudi the following year. In 2009, he released his debut album Man on the Moon: The End of Day. He later earned his first Grammy nomination for “Day ‘n’ Nite,” which was featured on the album.

The rapper followed up this release with albums like Indicud (2013), Kids See Ghosts (2018) and Insano (Nitro Mega) (2024). Throughout his career, he has written for and collaborated with artists such as Pop Smoke, Travis Scott and David Guetta. In 2012, he was awarded the Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “All of the Lights,” which he made with West, Rihanna and Fergie.

The Grammy winner has also acted, making appearances on shows such as Knuckles and in films such as Crater (2023).

Cudi has one daughter, Vada (born in 2010), with a former partner. He has been romantically linked with attorney Jamie Baratta and singer Cassie Ventura. In 2024, he announced his engagement to Lola Abecassis Sartore.
