Kim Raver

Kim Raver is an American actress best known for her roles on Grey’s Anatomy and 24. Raver was born and raised in New York City alongside her siblings. She began her acting career at a young age, appearing on Sesame Street as a child. She later attended Boston University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in drama.

Raver’s early career included stage work and guest appearances on television, but her breakthrough came with the NBC medical drama Third Watch, where she played paramedic Kim Zambrano from 1999 to 2004. She went on to gain wider recognition starring opposite Kiefer Sutherland on 24 and also landed recurring roles on shows including The Nine and Lipstick Jungle. Her career reached new heights when she joined Grey’s Anatomy as Dr. Teddy Altman, which became one of her most recognizable roles and led to multiple returns to the long-running series.

In addition to her television work, Raver has appeared in films including Marlon & Orloff (2002), Keep Your Distance (2005), Night at the Museum (2006) and The Braid (2023).

Raver married director and writer Manuel Boyer in 2000. The couple share two sons: Luke West (born in 2002) and Leo Kipling (born in 2007).
