
Malin Akerman
Malin Åkerman is a Swedish-Canadian actress known for her breakout role as Silk Spectre II in Watchmen. She was born in Stockholm, Sweden, and moved to Canada as a child. She competed as a professional figure skater for around a decade before briefly enrolling in York University in Toronto, where she studied psychology. She later dropped out of college to pursue acting full time.
Åkerman started booking small roles in the early 2000s with appearances in films like The Circle (2002), The Utopian Society (2003) and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004). Her early TV work included guest spots on Entourage and Witchblade. She gained wider attention after joining Lisa Kudrow in the HBO series The Comeback from 2005 to 2014. Her breakout film role came in 2009 with the sci-fi drama Watchmen.
Åkerman went on to star in titles such as 27 Dresses (2008), The Bang Bang Club (2010), Wanderlust (2012), Rock of Ages (2012) and The Final Girls (2015). On television, she has appeared in Children’s Hospital, played Lara Axelrod on Billions and starred in the sitcom Dollface.
In 2025, Åkerman joined the cast of Netflix’s The Hunting Wives, based on the novel of the same name.
Åkerman married musician Roberto Zincone in 2007. They welcomed their son, Sebastian, in 2010, before divorcing in 2013. In 2018, she wed actor Jack Donnelly.
