Mark-Paul Gosselaar

Mark-Paul Gosselaar is an actor best known for playing Zack Morris on Saved by the Bell. Gosselaar began modeling as a child and appeared in commercials before transitioning to acting. He attended Hart High School in Santa Clarita while pursuing his early television career.

Gosselaar’s breakthrough came in 1987 when he signed on to Disney Channel’s Good Morning Miss Bliss as Zack Morris. After two seasons, the show was reworked and moved to NBC as Saved By the Bell. The hit teen sitcom ran until 1993 and led to spinoffs including Saved by the Bell: The College Years and Saved by the Bell: The New Class. He signed off as Zack in 1994 but returned to the role in Peacock’s two-season revival in 2020.

The actor later took on more dramatic roles, including as Detective John Clark Jr. on NYPD Blue from 2001 to 2005. He went on to appear on shows such as Raising the Bar, Franklin & Bash, Pitch and Mixed-ish. Gosselaar has also acted in multiple films, including Heist (2015), Precious Cargo (2016) and The Portrait (2023). In 2023, he joined the cast of NBC’s Found as Sir.

Gosselaar was married to Lisa Ann Russell from 1996 to 2011. They share children Michael (born in 2004) and Ava (born in 2006). Following their split, he married Catriona McGinn. The couple welcomed son Dekker in 2013, and daughter Lachlyn in 2015.
