Mikaela Shiffrin
Mikaela Shiffrin is an American alpine ski racer and Olympic gold medalist. Born in Vail, Colorado, to former ski racers Jeff and Eileen Shiffrin, Mikaela was raised in a skiing family. Mikaela spent her childhood training before beginning to focus on elite competitions both nationally and internationally as a teenager.
Mikaela made her World Cup debut at age 15 and quickly emerged as a dominant force in slalom. She won her first World Cup race in 2012 and captured her first Olympic gold medal at the 2014 Sochi Games, becoming the youngest slalom champion in Olympic alpine skiing history.
Over the years, Mikaela has set records for World Cup victories, becoming one of the most decorated alpine skiers in history and expanding her dominance beyond slalom into giant slalom, super-G and downhill. In 2026, she competed at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, securing a gold medal in women’s slalom.
Mikaela entered a relationship with Norwegian alpine skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde in 2021, and the pair announced their engagement in 2024.
