Moroccan-born Sofia Pernas moved to California when she was 5 years old and grew up in Orange County. She graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 2015, which is the same year she got her big break in acting.

After making small appearances on NCIS and Leverage, Pernas landed the role of Marisa Sierras on The Young and the Restless. After leaving the soap opera in 2016, the actress scored a recurring role on Jane the Virgin as Catalina.

The model, who speaks four languages, has since appeared on The Brave as Hannah Rivera, The Green Ghost and Secret Society of Second Born Royals. She portrayed Lexi Vaziri on Blood & Treasure from 2019 to 2020.

Us Weekly confirmed in May 2020 that Pernas is dating her former The Young and the Restless costar Justin Hartley. The romance came after the This Is Us star split from wife Chrishell Stause in November 2019. News broke in May 2021 that Pernas and Hartley recently tied the knot in a secret ceremony.
