
Ty Burrell
Ty Burrell is an Emmy Award-winning actor. Born on August 22, 1967, in Grants Pass, Oregon, the comedian got his start in show business when he was cast in the 2000 Broadway production of Macbeth. He next appeared in the 2001 movie Black Hawk Down and was later cast in several TV shows, including The West Wing and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Burrell continued to work steadily over the next few years, scoring roles in the movies Friends With Money and National Treasure: Book of Secrets. He also appeared in the short-lived TV series Back to You.
In 2009, Burrell was cast as the dim-witted but lovable Phil Dunphy in ABC’s Modern Family. The role earned him a Primetime Emmy Award and a Critics’ Choice Award. His other notable film roles include Butter and Morning Glory.
Burrell married in 2000. The actor and his wife, Holly, have adopted two daughters.
