Amber Tamblyn is an actress, writer and director, who is the daughter of actor Russ Tamblyn and singer and artist Bonnie Tamblyn. Amber’s acting career began at the age of 10 when she was discovered by an agent while performing in a school play.

Tamblyn gained recognition for her role as Emily Quartermaine on the soap opera General Hospital, which she joined in 1995. She later starred as Joan Girardi on the CBS drama series Joan of Arcadia from 2003 to 2005. The actress also hit the big screen as Tibby in 2005’s Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and the 2008 sequel. In 2010, she starred in 127 Hours, which was nominated at the Oscars for Best Picture.

Throughout her career, Tamblyn has been nominated for several awards including a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Joan of Arcadia.

Aside from acting, Tamblyn is a published author and poet. She has released several books, including Free Stallion (2005) and Dark Sparkler (2015). She made her directorial debut with the film Paint It Black in 2016, which was nominated for Best Film at the Los Angeles Film Festival.

Tamblyn is married to comedian and actor David Cross. The couple began dating in 2007 and got engaged in 2011. In 2017, they welcomed daughter Marlow Alice.
