Caleb Followill
Caleb Followill is an American rock singer and guitarist best known as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the band Kings of Leon. He was born in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and spent much of his childhood moving around with his father, a preacher. Alongside his brothers, Jared and Nathan, he developed an interest in music from a young age, later prompting them to form the band King of Leon with their cousin, Matthew.
The group was first formed in 1999 and gained attention in the early 2000s for its blend of Southern rock and alt-rock, powered by Caleb’s distinctive raspy vocals. As the band toured extensively across the U.S. and internationally, their fanbase grew steadily and they became one of the most prominent rock acts of the decade. They landed a record deal with RCA early on, going on to release albums like Youth & Young Manhood (2003), Aha Shake Heartbreak (2004) and Because of the Times (2007).
With Kings of Leon, Caleb fronted major hits including “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody.” The latter earned them a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song in 2010. Throughout their career, the band has received 10 Grammy nominations and has held five world tours, becoming internationally recognized for their chart-topping releases.
Caleb married model Lily Aldridge in 2011. They share two children: daughter Dixie (born in 2012) and son Winston (born in 2019).
