Chrissy Metz

Chrissy Metz is an American actress and singer best known for her role as Kate Pearson on the NBC drama This Is Us. Metz spent her childhood primarily in Gainesville, Florida, following a short stint in Japan as a result of her father’s job. She worked various jobs while participating in choir and community theater, later pursuing acting full time.

Metz began her career attending an open casting call in Florida, which led her to move to Los Angeles. She worked as a talent agent’s assistant while pursuing auditions, landing small roles on series including Entourage and American Horror Story. Her rise to fame came in 2016 when she was cast as Kate Pearson on This Is Us, a role that brought her widespread recognition. She remained on the show until its end in 2022 and earned a Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy nominations for Best Supporting Actress.

In 2025, she joined the cast of Netflix’s The Hunting Wives as Starr.

Metz has also ventured into music and has released songs including her single “Talking To God”(2020).

Metz married British journalist Martyn Eaden in 2008. They separated in 2013 and finalized their divorce in 2015. She was later linked to Josh Stancil and Hal Rosenfeld. Following their split, she began dating Bradley Collins, with whom she cowrote the book When I Talk to God, I Talk About You (2023). The two broke up in 2023. In 2025, she shared she had moved on with a new man, whose name she has yet to reveal.
