About

Jodie Foster is an award-winning actress with multiple accolades including two Academy Awards.

Born Alicia Christian “Jodie” Foster, she got her start in Hollywood as a child model and later turned teen idol. At the beginning of her career, Foster worked on multiple Disney films including 1976’s Freaky Friday. That same year, she also starred in Taxi Driver, which earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

While Foster found success as a teen actor, she decided to attend Harvard University where she majored in African-American literature. Following her graduation, Foster returned to acting and took on more mature projects including The Accused and The Silence of the Lambs, both of which she won Oscars for.

In addition to acting, Foster has also dabbled in directing. She’s helmed several projects including Little Man Tate, Home for the Holidays, The Beaver and more. In 2024, Foster starred on the HBO anthology series True Detective: Night Country, winning an Emmy and Golden Globe for her performance.

In her personal life, Foster previously dated producer Cydney Bernard from 1993 to 2008. The exes share two sons. Foster tied the knot with wife Alexandra Hedison in 2014.
