
D'Arcy Carden
D’Arcy Carden is an Emmy-nominated actress and comedian best known for her role as Janet on The Good Place. Carden graduated from San Ramon Valley High School and later earned a BFA in theater from Southern Oregon University.
Carden started her career performing with Upright Citizens Brigade in New York, where she sharpened her skills in improv and sketch comedy. She first began making appearances on web series and shorts before landing a recurring role on Broad City in 2014. Her breakout came in 2016 when she was cast as Janet on NBC’s The Good Place. The show ran for four seasons and earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2020.
Following The Good Place, Carden starred as Natalie Greer on HBO’s Barry and took on a lead role in Amazon’s A League of Their Own. She has also appeared in Other People (2016), Bombshell (2019) and Greener Grass (2019), and Carden has lent her voice to animated series such as American Dad!.
In 2025, she appeared on the final season of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale.
Carden tied the knot with producer Jason Carden in 2010.
