Jake Johnson

Jake Johnson (born Mark Jake Johnson Weinberger) is an American actor and comedian best known for his role as Nick Miller on the hit sitcom New Girl. He was born in Evanston, Illinois, and attended the University of Iowa, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in film production.

Johnson’s career began in the early 2000s with various commercial appearances and small television roles. His breakout came in 2011, when he was cast as the sarcastic and lovable bartender Nick Miller on New Girl, a role that earned him critical acclaim and brought him widespread recognition. His performance as Miller earned him a Critics’ Choice Television Award nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy Series in 2013.

He has appeared in several notable films including 21 Jump Street (2012), Safety Not Guaranteed (2012), Jurassic World (2015) and Win It All (2017). Johnson has also voiced characters in animated series and films such as Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and its 2023 sequel.

Johnson tied the knot with artist Erin Payne in 2018. The couple share twin daughters, Elizabeth and Olivia, whom they welcomed in 2014.
