Jordan Peele

Jordan Peele is an Academy Award–winning writer, director and actor known for Get Out, Us and Nope, as well as his work on Key & Peele. Peele was raised in New York City, where he lived on the Upper West Side and attended the Computer School in Manhattan. He later enrolled in Sarah Lawrence College, where he studied puppetry before leaving to pursue comedy.

Peele began his career in improv and sketch comedy, joining Mad TV in 2003, where he met Keegan-Michael Key. The pair later created and starred in Key & Peele, which ran from 2012 to 2015 and earned widespread acclaim for its social satire. He later transitioned into filmmaking, making his directorial debut in 2017 with the critical and commercial success, Get Out.

Following Get Out, Peele wrote and directed Us (2019) and Nope (2022), further establishing his reputation in the horror genre. He won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Get Out and has produced several additional projects, including BlacKkKlansman (2018) and Candyman (2021), earning additional recognition across the film and television industry. He has also starred in a number of television projects, including Children’s Hospital, The Twilight Zone and High Horse: The Black Cowboy. He has also lent his voice to shows like Robot Chicken, Bob’s Burgers and American Dad.

Peele married Chelsea Peretti in 2016 after several years of dating. The couple share one son, Beaumont Gino Peele (born in 2017).
