About

Matt Bellamy is a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and lead vocalist for the band Muse. Bellamy played both the guitar and piano as a child, and he played in multiple bands while in school. After winning a school music competition under the band name Rocket Baby Dolls, he made the decision to pursue music alongside his friends.

The singer renamed the group Muse, and they began to play performances around London, often as the opening act for other bands. Bellamy acted as the group’s frontman and cited Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain as some of his musical influences. In 1998, Muse released their self-titled debut, and they released their debut album Showbiz the following year. Muse began to pick up steam and gained mainstream success in the early 2000s with releases such as Origin of Symmetry (2001) and Absolution (2003).

Bellamy remained active with the group throughout the 2010s, gaining a cult-like following. They became the first band to sell out London’s Wembley Stadium and have been nominated for multiple Grammys, winning Best Rock Album for The Resistance (2009) and Drones (2015).

In November 2023, the band rereleased Absolution featuring new songs and recorded demos.

Bellamy began dating actress Kate Hudson in 2010, and the pair got engaged the following year. They welcomed son Bingham in 2011 before calling off the engagement in 2014. The following year, the singer began dating model Elle Evans. The couple wed in 2019 and share children Lovella, born in 2020, and George, born in 2024.
