
Stephen Collins
Stephen Collins is an Emmy-nominated actor best known for his role on the long-running family drama 7th Heaven. Collins graduated from Amherst College with a degree in theater and literature in 1969 before pursuing a career in acting.
Collins began his career with a handful of minor television roles before landing a breakout role in Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) as Captain Willard Decker. He later starred on shows such as Tales of the Gold Monkey, Working It Out and Tattingers. His role on The Two Mrs. Grenvilles earned him his first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Miniseries in 1987.
In 1996, the actor signed on to the family drama 7th Heaven as Reverend Eric Camden, which he starred on for 11 seasons. He also appeared in the movies The First Wives Club (1996) and Because I Said So (2007) and later had recurring roles on Revolution and Private Practice.
His acting career ended in 2014 after he confessed to sexually abusing minors.
Collins was married to Marjorie Weinman from 1970 to 1978. He wed actress Faye Grant in 1985, and the couple welcomed their daughter, Kate, in 1989 before divorcing in 2015.
