Taylor Kitsch

Taylor Kitsch grew up as a talented hockey player, but his dreams of going pro ended after a knee injury. He briefly studied nutrition and economics before moving to New York in 2002 to pursue modeling and acting, despite facing homelessness.

Kitsch gained fame as Tim Riggins in Friday Night Lights (2006-2011). He later starred in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), John Carter (2012), Battleship (2012) and Lone Survivor (2013). His portrayal of real-life cult leader David Koresh in Waco (2018) earned critical acclaim after he lost 30 pounds and learned guitar for the role. He also appeared in True Detective Season 2 (2015) and The Terminal List (2022).

Now living in Montana, Kitsch remains dedicated to veterans’ causes and enjoys a quieter life.

Kitsch has largely kept his dating life private, but FNL costar Minka Kelly revealed in her 2023 memoir that they dated during the early seasons of the NBC drama.
