
William Shatner
William Shatner, born on March 22, 1931, in Montreal, Canada, is a legendary actor, author, producer and director best known for portraying Captain James T. Kirk in the original Star Trek series (1966–1969) and its subsequent films.
Beyond Star Trek, Shatner has had a diverse career, starring in series like T.J. Hooker and Boston Legal, where he earned two Emmy Awards. In October 2021, at age 90, Shatner became the oldest person to travel to space aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard spacecraft.
Shatner has authored numerous books, including his 2022 memoir Boldly Go and has opened up about his battle with stage 4 melanoma, using his platform to raise awareness about skin cancer. Despite his iconic role, he has admitted to watching very few Star Trek episodes, preferring documentaries and sports.
