Marilyn Manson
Marilyn Manson (born Brian Hugh Warner) is a musician, actor and artist best known as the frontman of the rock band Marilyn Manson. Manson studied journalism and theater at Broward College in Florida. During that time, he began working as a music journalist while forming the early version of his band.
Manson formed Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids in 1989, later shortening the name to Marilyn Manson. The band gained attention for their theatrical and provocative live performances. Their debut album Portrait of an American Family released in 1994, followed by the breakout Antichrist Superstar (1996), which propelled them to mainstream fame and featured the hit single “The Beautiful People.”
Subsequent albums include Mechanical Animals (1998), The Golden Age of Grotesque (2003) and The Pale Emperor (2015).
Known for his gothic image and shock rock persona, Manson has also acted in several films and series including Jawbreaker (1999), Sons of Anarchy and Salem. In the late 1980s, Manson worked as an extra on 21 Jump Street, where he befriended star Johnny Depp. Manson was later named godfather of Depp and Vanessa Paradis’ daughter, Lily-Rose Depp.
Throughout his career, the singer has collaborated with numerous musicians, including DMX and Lady Gaga. He also owns the Celebritarian Corporation Gallery of Fine Art in Los Angeles where he has held exhibitions for his own art.
Manson was engaged to Rose McGowan from 1999 to 2001. He went on to date Dita Von Teese, whom he married in 2005; the pair split in 2007. The singer moved on with Evan Rachel Wood, and they were even engaged before ending things in 2010. In 2020, he tied the knot with photographer Lindsay Usich.
