Steve Martin

Steve Martin is an Emmy-winning comedian, actor and musician that has made himself a household name over his decades-long career. He began his career as a writer for the comedy series The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, performing stand-up comedy shows. He later began hosting Saturday Night Live, becoming a frequent guest on the show and later hosting multiple times throughout his career.

After making a name for himself in comedy, Martin transitioned to acting with early roles in films such as Another Nice Mess (1972), The Muppet Movie (1979) and The Jerk (1979). He also began writing, contributing to the screenplays of films like Three Amigos! (1986) and L.A. Story (1991). His later credits include Cheaper by the Dozen (2003), The Pink Panther (2006), It’s Complicated (2009) and Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk (2016).

Martin has also established a prolific music career, earning multiple Grammy Awards for his bluegrass recordings, including The Crow: New Songs for the 5-String Banjo (2005).

In 2021, Martin joined the cast of the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building alongside Martin Short, Selena Gomez and Meryl Streep.

The actor was married to British actress Victoria Tennant from 1986 to 1994. He wed writer Anne Stringfield in 2007, and they share one daughter, Mary (born in 2012).
