
Uma Thurman
Boston-born Uma Thurman was born on April 29, 1970. The early years of her life she had a buddhist upbringing and lived in India for two years of her child hood. When she was young she experienced body dysmorphia that lead her to getting a nose job as a child. She left boarding school at 15 to become an actress after performing her role as Abigail in the The Crucible.
She later moved to New York landed a role in the 1988 film Dangerous Liaisons. But it wasn’t until her role in 1994’s Pulp Fiction that Thurman became a household name. From there, she starred in blockbusters Batman & Robin, the Kill Bill series and My Super Ex-Girlfriend.
Recently, she has portrayed lead roles in the Netflix series Chambers. She has also reunited with her co-star in Mad Dog and Glory, Robert De Niro for The film The War with Grandpa.
Thurman was married to actor Gary Oldman until 1992, and then Ethan Hawke until 2004. Hawke and Thurman have two children together. In 2007 she began dating French Financier Arpad Busson they got engaged twice and called it off both times. They have one child together.
Thurman serves on the board and vocally supports many social activism organizations that cover political and social issues. She has been verbal about her stance on sexual harassment, her support of the Democratic Party, Human Rights, LGBTQ+ rights and more.
