Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey honed his stand-up comedy act through the ‘80s before joining the cast of the comedy series In Living Color. Carrey broke into acting with roles in the 1994 films Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask and Dumb and Dumber. He starred in Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls and Batman Forever the following year and went on to land roles in Liar Liar (1997), The Truman Show (1998), How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004), Dumb and Dumber To (2014) and portrayed Dr. Robotnik in the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

Carrey was previously married to Melissa Womer from 1987 to 1995. The exes share daughter Jane Erin, who was born in 1987. Carrey married Dumb and Dumber costar Lauren Holly in 1996, but the two split less than one year later. He moved on with Renée Zellweger, to whom he was engaged from 1999 until 2000. Carrey started dating Jenny McCarthy in 2005, splitting after five years in 2010.

The comedian dated Cathriona White from 2012 to 2015. In September 2015, White was found dead from a prescription drug overdose at the age of 30, and Carrey was a pallbearer at her funeral. He subsequently dated Ginger Gonzaga in 2019.
